About

I was born in France and lived there until I was seven. During part of that time my mother lost all her money in the great depression in 1932 and we became penniless.  I lived with Catholic nuns for three years, which profoundly influenced me.

We moved to Jersey, then to England where I received my education in several different schools. I ended up at University with a First class degree in languages.

I had a chequered work career until I started work at NATO in Paris and stayed there for 30 years, moving to Brussels in 1967. I retired in 1989 and received the MBE for my services to NATO.  On retirement Idaphne took up painting, singing and writing.

These are the bare bones of my life. My purpose is to show how I developed from a pathologically shy child and adult into a woman who is secure in herself and her own mind, what I would call self realised. I hope that my story will be of interest and that it may inspire others.  Everything is possible!
